My Canine Kids

When you live with pets in your home, for some of us, they become like little people.

Each one has a personality of its own.

I hope when you finish your visit, you'll know a little about each one of My Canine Kids.

Lacy

Begging for a Living

LacyLacy came to us through my son Mark. She would come to the place where he worked and beg for hand outs.

He would share his lunch with her and they became fast friends.

She was in terrible shape. A skin disease had made her almost hairless and when I first saw her I thought she had been nursing puppies. A trip to the vet revealed that she was suffering from an infection of her mammories which caused them to swell.

One day her owner came to the place where Mark worked to claim her. Lacy ran from her and hid behind Mark. The lady said to Mark, 'Well she must like you better than she does me' and she gave her to Mark.

She's been with us ever since.

You're Not Staying Here

LacyWhen Mark first brought Lacy to live with us Peggy's words were, "She's not staying here!"

We already had 4 other dogs. Alas Lacy's personality was irresistible and she soon won Peggy over. For years, when bedtime came, Lacy's sleeping position was as close to mom as she could get.

Look at that Little Fat Dog

LacyEveryone that comes to see us responds the same when they see Lacy. It's always, "Look at that little fat dog!"

We always blame the vet. We had her spayed and it was like blowing up a balloon. It doesn't matter how much or how little she eats; she stays the same.

She'll always be our little fat dog.
