When Free Isn't Really Free

You're here because you want to build a website.

But did you ever ask yourself 'why do I want to build a website?'

Unless you're an HTML junkie, what you really want is the "benefits" of having a website...

  • the opportunity to "work from home",
  • the chance to "quit that day job",
  • or maybe you want to "earn some extra money."
  • Or maybe you just want to be rich. (-;

To be able to achieve those underlying goals you not only have to build a website, you must build a website that succeeds.

In other words a website that makes money.

Am I right?

Yes you MIGHT succeed using free site building tools and cheap hosting, but I guarantee it will take you longer. And your time is worth something right? My time is worth a lot to me. I bet you feel the same way.

So sometimes free isn't really free is it?

What is it you really want? A successful online business - right?

Now, what does that take?

Traffic!

Without visitors your site is lost in the wilderness or what we call 'THE BLACK HOLE! It's sad but true.

So how do you get traffic?

1. Pick a theme that is in demand
To do that you will need to research all the keywords around your particular niche. If you find your chosen niche is not in great demand, you may have to choose an entirely different one. You don't want to waste your time right? We've already determined that your time is money.

2. Write lots of content about your niche/theme.
From your research in #1 you will have found the most "in-demand" keywords. That's what you need to write about. If your content is valuable and people are looking for it, the search engines will reward you by giving you high placement in their listings. And then they'll send you lots of free traffic.

3. Make sure your site is Search Engine friendly
Search engines don't see your site and make evaluations like you and I do. To determine whether a site is really quality or not they use an automated evaluation system called an algorithm. The "spider" as it's called, looks for certain cues in your HTML file. If you build your content correctly the SEs will have an easier time deciding that your site is valuable. This is called "on-page" criteria. It's also known as Search Engine Optimization.

4. Submit your site to the Search Engines
This is a process you can either do yourself (free) or pay for. But don't submit too often or the SEs will get mad. To submit you'll need to create a "site map" in a particular format that each SE requires.

5. Get lots of inbound links.
One way the SEs judge the quality of your site is to look and see who links to it. The more "high-quality" inbound links the more popular Google thinks your site is. This is called "off-page" criteria.

6. Write more content
The more pages that make up your site the more content and keywords the search engines have to spider. Content is king and lots of content is king of the hill.

7. PREsell your visitors
OK technically this is not about getting more traffic. But it is about turning more of your traffic into customers. PREselling is about creating credibility with your visitors. Until they like and trust you they won't listen to your recommendations or trust your advice. Your conversion rate (sales per visitor) will be directly effected by your credibility level.

So you can see that to succeed you'll need a lot of tools to do the above steps.
You'll need...

  • Keyword research tools
  • Instruction for how to write valuable content
  • Page analysis tools to determine if your site is SE friendly
  • Inbound link development tools
  • Hosting
  • Site submission tools
  • Site marketing tools

Yes you can find free tools that offer all of the above. You can also buy a tool for each of the above steps in the process.

But there's only one system that includes EVERY tool you need for the above steps (and many more I didn't mention).

That tool is Site Build It!. SBI sells for $299 and if your time is worth as much as mine you can save that much time in a week using their system.

Here's what Site Build It! includes...Toolbox

So what kind of traffic can you get with an SBI! site?

Here's a page that shows the Alexa Rankings of some of their customer's sites. It's not uncommon for their sites to get thousands of visitors per day. Alexa Results

But even better. Why not listen to what their customers say themselves...Case Studies

And if you still have questions you can talk to someone who has the answers.Talk Now!

The bottom line is... a successful online business will never be free.

You'll pay in the form or money or you'll pay in the form of time. It just makes sense to invest both wisely.

Like someone said...

Site Build It! doesn't guarantee success. But they do guarantee all the tools you'll need to succeed. The rest is up to you.

Footnote: When I started building websites back in '96, it took me about 4 years to make it a success. I had the FREE mentality and there was no SBI. With SBI, there is no reason why you can't build a successful site in 30 days or less!!
